Metabolism Disorders
Our research and care strategies are focused on common metabolic disorders that increase the risk for cardiovascular disease, stroke, diabetes, and many cancers. Today, one in five Americans suffers from metabolic syndrome (a collection of conditions including high blood pressure and blood sugar, excess fat around the waist, and abnormal cholesterol and triglyceride levels), and it is estimated that 40% of adults over the age of 60 are affected by this condition. Common health concerns contributing to metabolic syndrome include obesity, fatty liver disease, and dyslipidemia (abnormal cholesterol balance). These disease states are interrelated and a major cause of death and disability due to cardiovascular events such as myocardial infarction and stroke.
Our Approach
Our research platform provides added focus for both patients and providers on these critical metabolic concerns. Patients receive exceptional service through our point-of-care research programs benefiting from advanced diagnostics, monitoring, education, and coaching. Our integrated approach to research creates a welcoming atmosphere in which patients can improve their health. Our programs are an extension of provider services to enhance the patient experience and support the brand and community reputation of our partnership programs.
